Tuesday's "Rat Race"

Tuesday night is Bible study night for us. It's easily one of our highlights every week. The friendships that have come out of it are priceless. Two other young couples and us take turns meeting at each others homes. (Well, Erin and I have yet to host but that will soon change along with our address.)

A couple of weeks ago, one of the wives from our Bible study group severly broke her leg. (Have I written about this already? I'm losing my memory in my old age.) Anyway, instead of the typical meetings, we have just focused on the fellowship aspect the last two Tuesdays. Once just meeting at Starbucks [cough] overrated [cough], and last night we met for a movie night. Erin and I supplied Papa Murphy's, Nate (whose wife was the one injured) supplied the home and pop and movie, and Cliff and Michelle suppied the cookies. So, as you may have already guessed by the title of this post, the movie we devoted two hours of our life to was "Rat Race".

My review: Two Thumbs Down. It was a poor spin-off of the classic "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World". Don't see it.

Even though 3 of the 5 of us didn't like the movie, 5 out of 5 of us enjoyed the night. It's always fun just to hang out with fellow Christians. Even if we don't have a lot of common interests, the main one (Christ) is the most important and it shows. That's just one great thing about belonging the Christ, when you find someone else who does, there is that instant strong connection. You just can't explain it to a non-believer.

Anyway, it was a fun night, Cara's leg and overall health are much improved, and we look forward to next Tuesday.

At Bible study tonight we looked at Philippians 2:19-30. It talks about Christian relationships, it is far above a friendship isn't it. We have a great time with the people we have gotten to know so "openly" well. It is hard to leave once you get together. Continue to take the time to get together. Dad
