The Da Vinci Code

With Dan Brown's New York Times bestseller still going strong and a movie (directed by Ron Howard and staring Tom Hanks) coming soon to theaters, I feel I need to share some info concerning what the book is all about and if there is any truth to the book.

This first link was written in 2003! That's how long this fictional book has been eating up concerns. Consider this 1st banner to be more of a very general "about". A good start for those of us who haven't read the book or know a whole lot of what is covered.

The 2nd banner was posted mid April. It's contents cover: The Divinity of Jesus, The Gnostic "Gospels", and Jesus and Mary Magdalene.
3rd is the most indepth. I need to read again the first two before reading this one. It's contents are: Constantine the Great, Knights Templar, Priory of Sion, and Leonardo da Vinci.

GOD'S MESSAGE FOR ME TODAY
They took his advice; and after calling the apostles in, they flogged them and ordered them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and then released them. So they went on their way from the presence of the Council, rejoicing that they had been considered worthy to suffer shame for His name. And every day, in the temple and from house to house, they kept right on teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ. —Acts 5:40-42

HOW DOES THIS APPLY TO MY LIFE?
This is one of my favorite passages. The fact that Peter and the apostles would consider it joy to be flogged and suffer for the name of Jesus Christ. Normally I shy away from any potential prospect of persecution. This is also the same Peter who not too long before this, denied even knowing Jesus (let alone preaching His name) 3 times. I pray that my faith will continue to grow to and beyond this principle.
