An Evening in Trinidad
14 consecutive hours in church. That's a lot of hours.
6:03 am, Saturday morning we left Shakopee. We were planning on leaving Friday after work but that didn't happen. We didn't finish all of our pre-trip prep until 9:30 that night. Thank goodness for pop and McDonald's. With their help, I was able to safely make it to Peshtigo without falling asleep. (Although if I continue with this eating habit, I'll have to "thank goodness" for larger pant sizes.)
Saturday afternoon, Maddie, Bella, and I got a couple hours of sleep while Erin, De, and some other ladies (and one guy) from Faith Baptist church prepared the Trinidadian food. Kevin was outside for the most part doing yard work. Notice I said "for the most part." He made sure he left ESPN on for the latest on the Packers and the NFL Draft.
Sunday was the fruit of Erin and companies labor. Immediately following our "Session 3" Trinidad training, God's servants were taking up their crosses by working hard on setting up for "An Evening in Trinidad." Besides the final food prep, there was the...well...I was going to start listing everything but that would take up way too much time. Needless to say it was about 3 hours of work made from 100% concentrate.
The dinner, silent auction, and presentation went flawlessly. With the Lord's help, we were able to raise $1,600 profit for Faith's trip to Trinidad! A big "thank you" goes to everyone behind the scenes and their willingness to help, even if they weren't going on the trip.
We arrived home about 7:00 pm last night and were exhausted. Physically drained. Erin watched her Tuesday line-up of TV while I switched between the Twins getting spanked by the Mariners and the Oilers defeating the top rated Red Wings for their shot at Lord Stanley's Cup.
Bella, well, she was tuckered out after trying to take down "Maddog Maddie". Bella was more of annoyance when it came to the big beagle, but Maddie handled the little weiner dog very well.

GOD'S MESSAGE FOR ME TODAY
"Therefore it is necessary that of the men who have accompanied us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us—beginning with the baptism of John until the day that He was taken up from us—one of these must become a witness with us of His resurrection." —Acts 1:21 and 22
HOW DOES THIS APPLY TO MY LIFE?
After reading how Christ lived in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, I find it exciting to get into the Luke's gospel of Acts and see the fruits of Jesus' labor. Instead of God's word ending with His death, we get to see Jesus resurrected and how the apostles obeyed Christ's command to share the gospel with every tribe, tongue, and nation.
Further proof of Christ's life. If He was just a man and His death was permanent, why would the disciples risk and give their lives for someone who was dead?
