Exodus Chapters 2-4

Thursday, November 30th, 2006/Exodus chapters 2-4

GOD'S MESSAGE FOR ME TODAY
The LORD said to him, "Who has made man's mouth? Or who makes him mute or deaf, or seeing or blind? Is it not I, the LORD? Now then go, and I, even I, will be with your mouth, and teach you what you are to say." Exodus 4:11 & 12

HOW DOES THIS APPLY TO MY LIFE?
Our own self doubt can sometimes be the reason why we aren't more active in doing the Lord's work. Just as Moses was concerned about being "slow of speech" we may find excuses for doing something the Lord has put on our heart. We must not rely on ourselves, but God. He will be the source of our confidence.

BEing CarbonMade

Online Portfolio

I have just completed uploading 35 pieces of work to CarbonMade.com. It's a site for the "artsy" people of the world who want to display their stuff for fun, for potential employers, or both. Feel free to have a look. The link to it is shown below (I made it easy). ;)

Feel free to give me any advise concerning the wording or oranization. Erin already has some recommendations for me. Also, if you have time, check out the link directly below the one circled; Noemi Photography.

Noemi used to work full time at STEM but has since become a mom and her photography hobby has started paying off. She just launched her website last week. It's very professional and clean. I also like her different perspectives and angles she accomplishes in her work. Give it a looksee!

--

The Monday following Thanksgiving I posted some fun award winners. One of you (mom?) is trying to get me into trouble with my father-in-law by pointing out that I hadn't given him an award. (To see the comment, look under that post in the comments section.)

I hadn't given one to Kevin because I didn't have a good picture of him. But because I don't want to get into trouble with my favorite father-in-law, I had to make an award so here it is:

The "Best father-in-law in the world who happend to be just getting off of work and still wearing scrubs and caught with his eyes half-way open while smiling" award.

(I hope that gets me outta trouble?)

;)

. . . Just for fun.

Can you find Bella?
(As always, click to enlarge.)

If you didn't, then here's all we initially found of her; a single paw.

Here's the other side. Still can't find her?

Here's a closer look. I think she gave up looking for badgers and found a good place to curl up and fall asleep. I wish I could be doing that right now. (Sleeping I mean...not looking for badgers.)

GOD'S MESSAGE FOR ME TODAY
But the midwives feared God, and did not do as the king of Egypt had commanded them, but let the boys live. Exodus 1:17

HOW DOES THIS APPLY TO MY LIFE?
Even though Pahraoh had commanded the midwives to kill the baby boys, the midwives feared and/or had reverence for God so they disobeyed Pharaoh. Even though their lives would have more than likely been at stake if found out, they feared God more than Pharaoh. I hope I have enough love for God if a situation came about where my life would be at stake, that I would cherish God more than my life.

A Snow-Lovers Prayer

What's Wrong With This Picture?

Rain. Thunder and lightning. Green grass. Umbrellas. It's got to be April right? WRONG! It's a few days away from December. DECEMBER!

Dear Heavenly Father. Thank you for the four seasons. Thank you for providing the budding flowers of spring, the green grass of summer, the color-changing leaves of fall, and the rain...err, I mean snow of winter. Lord you know my anxious heart, so please give me a heart of contentment and after you do that, please Lord, bring the snow!

—Your disgruntled servant, Bernt.

. . . Just for fun.

Can you find Bella?

(As always, click to enlarge. I'll show you where she is tomorrow)

GOD'S MESSAGE FOR ME TODAY
Israel said to Joseph, "I never expected to see your face, and behold, God has let me see your children as well." Genesis 48:11

HOW DOES THIS APPLY TO MY LIFE?
After Jacob (Israel) was brought Joseph's "technicolor dream coat" covered in blood, he thought (and rightfully so) that he would never see his son again. My how things change quickly. Never underestimate God's love for us! Not only did Israel get to see his son again, but his grandsons as well!

Thanksgiving Award Winners

MVP
De easily gets the Most Valuable Person award. Between preparing the entire meal, taking care of grandma Johnson, and basically on her feet 20 of the 24 hours Thanksgiving day, she easily took top honors.

GUEST OF HONOR
Grandma Johnson deserves her own reward. Life is a struggle every day so just to have her home is a treat.

OVER-EATER
J-Bone. If I had to pick someone to win this award before the day started, he would have been my pick. Sure enough, he lived up to expectation. He paid for it later but I think he would say it was all worth it just to get this award. ;)

MOST PLAYFUL
I wasn't sure how these two would get along. It seems as though each time they see each other, it gets better and better. Well, that pattern definetly held true. In fact, after the ceremonial "sniffing-of-each-other's-butt" these Bella and Maddie were playing non-stop.

MOST BABIED
Bella took advantage of Naner's love and attention. If we didn't know better, we would have thought that Danae was carrying around a toy dog all weekend. Bella ate up being carried around.

The "JUST BECAUSE" Award
Yep, these three girls needed their own award. My reason...Just because.

GOD'S MESSAGE FOR ME TODAY
"God sent me before you to preserve for you a remnant in the earth, and to keep you alive by a great deliverance. "Now, therefore, it was not you who sent me here, but God; Genesis 45:7-8b

HOW DOES THIS APPLY TO MY LIFE?
Another example of God's will and perfect plan. Although Joseph's brothers intent was evil (selling him as a slave), the Lord used it for good. Not only that, but God used the result of the evil plan to save those who comitted the sin. We must remember that when we go through hardship to praise God; for His plans are perfect!

A Thanks-Filled Weekend

A Thanks-filled Weekend
(Except for the poor turkey) ;)

Immediately following work, Erin, Bella, and I will be making the 5 plus hour trip to Packerland. I'm assuming Erin's parents house will be the center of attention once again this year as the Johnson family are all home. I'm also assuming they will be hosting Kevin's cousin and his wife and hopefully we'll also get to see grandma Johnson.

It will be fun to see the Johnson's again. The last time we were there was June (I think). My highlight will be, of course, seeing everyone but also having a full belly and watching THREE football games! Erin would agree with me but she also has plans to see a best friend from high school.

So whatever you have planned for Thanksgiving weekend, be sure to say a prayer for safe travel's and glorify God in everything He has given you! May our heavenly Father bless you all this holiday weekend!

GOD'S MESSAGE FOR ME TODAY
Abraham said to his young men, "Stay here with the donkey, and I and the lad will go over there; and we will worship and return to you." Genesis 22:5

HOW DOES THIS APPLY TO MY LIFE?
"we will worship and return to you." We all know the story of Abraham being told to sacrifice Issac. And what I love is that even when they were at the base of the mountain, Abraham knew God was going to come through and both Abraham and Issac would be coming back down. He didn't know how, but he had faith that God knew what He was doing and obeyed Him even when God didn't make sense to him.

Honored Twins

CONGRATULATIONS
MORNEAU & SANTANA!

As some of you have already heard, Minnesota Twins pitcher Johan Santana unaminously won the American League Cy Young award. Well today, Minnesota Twins first baseman edged out Yankee Derek Jeter for American League MVP. Way to go guys!

F.Y.I.

F.Y.I.

For Your Information: A couple of months ago I posted that Erin and I had purchased a Volkswagon Bug. It was meant as a joke but I obviously did a HORRIBLE job at conveying my sarcasm over the internet. So consider this a retraction. We did not purchase the Bug named PHRED. It was in our neighbors driveway and I took a picture of it. I repeat, we did not buy a VW Bug. Sorry for the confusion

Having said that, if you still don't believe me, you can believe this: We sold PHRED the Bug for a $275,000 Dodge Hennesey Viper. It's sitting in our driveway right now. ;) I'll sell it to you for $80 bagillion dollars!

Also, for fellow SPUDDOGS, be sure to make your football picks early this week. There will be three (yes I said 3) Thanksgiving Day games.

Also, you should get into the habit of making your picks early since the NFL Network looks to make Thursday night football a tradition. Hopefully your cable provider has it available to you.

GOD'S MESSAGE FOR ME TODAY
Thus it came about, when God destroyed the cities of the valley, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when He overthrew the cities in which Lot lived." Genesis 19:29

HOW DOES THIS APPLY TO MY LIFE?
As a direct result of Abraham interceding on Lot's behalf, the Lord intervened and rescued Lot and his family certain death. Lot had no idea that his uncle Abraham had prayed for his safety. All he knew was that the Lord had rescued him. (Glory went the Lord and not Abraham.) Never think that prayer is futile!

Friday, November 17th, 2006/Genesis chapter 10-???

GOD'S MESSAGE FOR ME TODAY
This is starting to happen more and more. I'm hitting my alarm and don't remember doing it. Maybe I'll try waking up to KTIS instead of BEEEEP, BEEEEP, BEEEEP, BEEEEP,....

HOW DOES THIS APPLY TO MY LIFE?
Try something different with your alarm.
