243 + 5 =

248
That is the number of DVD's we will own after 5:00 today.

Our passion for movie watching is quickly approaching the 250 mark. If someone didn't know anything about us and were to walk through our townhome, they wouldn't have to look very hard to see what we like to do together.

There is something about sitting next to Erin with a bowl of buttered popcorn and a cherry Coke and becoming engrossed in a hollywood production. For 2 hours (unless your Lord of the Rings/King Kong director Peter Jackson then it's almost 4 hours) we get to forget about the daily hardships and realities of life and experience life with a family of 18 or the trials and tribulations of 2 dogs from totally different backgrounds, or whatever Pride and Prejudice is about...you get the picture.

Our DVD player is easily the most active appliance in the house. And tonight, we are going to give it some more exercise.

GOD'S MESSAGE FOR ME TODAY
For we do not have a high priest who cannot sypathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in our time of need. —Hebrews 4:15-16

HOW DOES THIS APPLY TO MY LIFE
God understands. Various temptations, impure thoughts, and just the overall feeling of someone trying to chop us down in order that we fall into sin. God understands. He's been there, done that. But unlike us, He didn't break. So instead of us falling and trying to get back up again on our own, we need to lean into Christ so that He is able to stand us up one more time.
