Daniel 4:30

Tuesday, July 10th, 2007/Daniel chapters 1–4

GOD'S MESSAGE FOR ME TODAY
"The king reflected and said, 'Is this not Babylon the great, which I myself have built as a royal residence by the might of my power and for the glory of my majesty?'" —Daniel 4:30

HOW DOES THIS APPLY TO MY LIFE?
Pride is a huge downfall for us all. Non-believer and believer alike. God is always in control. Since God is in control, who are we to exalt ourselves? God uses Christians and non-Christians to bring Him glory. He despises it when we take credit for something He accomplished. In this case, Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, takes credit for his kingdom when the first two verses of the book state it was God's doing. (Check out verse 33 for the kings funny punishment.)
