Resurrection Pictograms

Erin and I will be spending Resurrection Sunday in Wisconsin this year. It promises to be a packed house. I'm curious to see how the two dogs, Bella and Maddie, fair with all of the legs to contend with.

Anyway, when searching for an image to post with the title "resurrection", I expected to find nothing but our stereotypical Bible/Jesus/Cross pictures. To my surprise, this is one of the Google results I got. It's simple and to the point. Although I don't know how effective it is.

Here is the Scripture reference on the bottom of the sign:
For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, —1 Corinthians 15:3-4

Enjoy your weekend and please stop and think what we are really celebrating!

Last Wednesday I posted a prayer request for my aunt Ruth and yesterday I received this email.

Hi Bernt.

I wanted to let you know that I came through my stress test with flying colors! Praise God! The doctor said everything looks perfectly normal with my heart. I was told to start doing more cardiovascular exercises to get my heart pumping faster so it's not so difficult going up stairs. So, that is my goal now. Thank you so much for your prayers and the prayers of others reading your blog. We love you guys!

-Aunt Ruth

Thanks for the update Ruth! I love to see how God answers prayer. It's also fun when it happens quickly.

Thursday, April 5th, 2007/Esther chapters 5–10

GOD'S MESSAGE FOR ME TODAY
For Haman the son of Hammedatha, the Agagite, the adversary of all the Jews, had schemed against the Jews to destroy them and...that his wicked scheme which he had devised against the Jews, should return on his own head and that he and his sons should be hanged on the gallows. Esther 9:24a - 25b

HOW DOES THIS APPLY TO MY LIFE?
God is in control, not people.

"As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present result, to preserve many people alive." —Genesis 50:20
