Jeremiah 44:16 & 17

Friday, June 29th, 2007/Jeremiah chapters 37–44

GOD'S MESSAGE FOR ME TODAY
"As for the message that you have spoken to us in the name of the LORD, we are not going to listen to you! But rather we will certainly carry out every word that has proceeded from our mouths... just as we ourselves, our forefathers, our kings and our princes did... for then we had plenty of food and were well off and saw no misfortune. —Jeremiah 44:16 & 17

HOW DOES THIS APPLY TO MY LIFE?
The over-used phrase "Everyone else is doing it so why can't I?" comes to mind. We must not confuse God's patience as acceptance. He gives us more than enough time to turn and repent. It is wise not to test God. After all, it's for our own good.
