Biblical Parenting

"Thou shall not color thy sibling with permanent marker."

Ok so that wasn't one of the 10 Commandments but I think it was implied. ;) Anyway with a baby on the way, this morning's devotional hit me on the basics of parenting. The picture doesn't really apply to the passage but I've been wanting to use this picture for a while now. Have a great Thursday!

GOD'S MESSAGE FOR ME TODAY
All that generation also were gathered to their fathers; and there arose another generation after them who did not know the LORD, nor yet the work which He had done for Israel. Then the sons of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD and served the Baals, Judges 2:10 & 11

HOW DOES THIS APPLY TO MY LIFE?
The role of parents is to lead by example a Christ centered life as well as teaching their children the ways of the Lord. Thuis way, their kids will not only hear about God but see Him working in the lives of their parents. Otherwise, the children will not know His ways and stray just as the next generation of Israelites did.
